your body has a very strong reaction against it because it recognizes the orangutan adenovirus as something very foreign it has never been exposed to before. the idea was this strong reaction would also make you create more antibodies, and also, by using an ape adenovirus, they can be sure you have never been exposed to that one before (unlike sputnik which uses a human adenovirus)
in the end it's a relative failure. the vaccine is effective, but less than mrna ones, and not effective against the south african strain, and has very strong side effects, and is more dangerous than all the other vaccines on the market.
