A small dust particle can hit as hard as a small nuke if you even travel at 20% the speed of light.
How the fuck are we gonna deal with this thing in space if we ever want interstellar travel?

Theoretically you'd need a craft with precise enough instruments to track all atoms in a 10 light year radius with engines able to output 30%+ lightspeed thrust in any direction and you'd have to move between every atom perfectly.

Of course that would also probably kill any living being.

didnt believe you so i did some math
one milligram of dust traveling at .2c has 1.8 gigajoules of energy. the nuke dropped on Hiroshima was equivalent to 15 kilotons of TNT, or about 6.27e16 joules. the dust has about 0.00000287% of the energy of the Hiroshima nuke, or is equivalent to 100 kg traveling at 6 kilometers a second.
