The idea was to eat a lot of carrots or take a daily high dose of Beta-Carotene to fix my awfully pale skin complexion.
But apparently high doses of Beta-Carotene have been linked with significantly increased risk of cancer and all-cause mortality rates in smokers or ex-smokers (I quit a year ago).
