If you have fucked up gut bacteria then it can introduce healthy bacteria. They tested it on kids with autism (which causes or maybe is caused by a fucked up microbiome) and found a big reduction in autistic traits, even a year after the study was done in a follow up.

So a new delivery method? For the past few years fecal transplants have been around but my understanding is that they were administered through the anus. Going to guess with a suppository. If they've isolated the bacteria and can administer it orally, that's obviously going to make things much easier. I do wonder if the trip through the stomach is an issue. Seems like part of the reason for going through the anus was to avoid stomach acid.
