why are scientists so bad at math when it comes to estimating budgets and deadlines?
the people who will tell you that they can calculate the age of the universe down to the second are the same people who need several decades of leeway when it comes to estimating how long it takes to build a telescope. does anyone else see this as paradoxical?
also a few thousand percent over initial budget estimates seems to be par for the course, whats up with that?
