When i was a kid i only got invested in science for fun without a particular goal in mind, just endless curiosity, it wasn't until later that i started having long term goals, and from posting anime i assumed the OP must be still on the younger side so i wanted to give him advice to make up his mind. If he's 25+ however then you're most likely correct.
