My advisor for my undergraduate thesis for next year just dropped out. He was reluctant but willing, saying my project sounded a little ambitious (I didn't really have a project, just access to a bunch of resources that I wanted to find some use for). He agreed to take me on and we could figure out a suitable project later. I've been working hard researching, and found a paper outlining the theoretical background for an experiment that has yet to be conducted. We have all the instrumentation needed to complete it, but he says they're highly specialized and outside of his realm of expertise and basically told me to look elsewhere.
I really wish he had told me sooner because now I'm scrambling to find someone to take me on with like a month before school starts. What do I do?
