self study

What are the best resources to learn physics, if you can't go to a university? I'm a neet but since I have so much free time I wanted to at least do something meaningful and so I want to try and see if I'm intelligent enough to comprehend subjects like these.

Most of the youtube 'edutainment' videos I see mostly feel like I'm learning to remember science lore instead of actually understanding it and knowing what the rules are derived from. I only have knowledge of high school physics and math, so please just recommend me something that's a good introduction which explains every principle in detail and then builds on top of it.

The topics I want to learn about can be whatever, maybe I would like to know, like nuclear fusion and fission, quantum physics or space stuff, you know the stereotypical meme scientist shit, just explained actually scientifically. I can only skip classical newtonian physics and basic electricity current and charge shit.

I would be really grateful if somebody recommended some good material since I genuinely want to learn, but don't really have a way to start.
