mathemathical way to interpolate

hi, looking to achieve some sort of smoothness, realism, balance in my animation. i tend to do limps and jitters unconsciously so i was hoping to streamline my process somehow, so to achieve motion X by placing parts ABC in spacing n through frame f or something like that... can i do that using math or some way to model each frame to frame or drawing straight ahead?
