Hypothetically speaking, could large slots be cut through mountain ranges east to west to bring moisture through to desert basins on the East of California?

I was forced to think about this, the most nigger way is to bring water from somewhere else and the most complex is trying to restore a water cycle into the region (which seems very hard to even think about).

There are many resources about this over the web and many cases seem to be successful.

you'll never get rainfall there, i guess you could try redirecting a river into it but that would probably cause more harm than good.

Yes if you calibrate the sound wave so its node aliens with the mountain ridge. It should compress the heat in that aria and then it will flow into the sky.

some low yield nukes don't cost billions of dollars. in fact the US could easily blow up a mountain range every year because nukes go bad eventually and have to get replaced and the USAF has to train anyway.

Death Valley was a lake up until about 10,000 years ago during the last recent ice age. The lake dried up when global weather patterns changed due to the natural Milankovich Cycle. If carbon doesn't totally fuck the next Milankovich Cycle it'll become a lake again but that's a pretty big if now.

I have no idea. I have never looked deeply into sound generation. Thats why i dont know if this large waves are possible with standard equipment. Thats even maybe more challenging as the power. Cause its just compresses the heat, it doesn't really take it out of the system. Thats why it can be much more cost efficient in terms of wk.
