Why do we call gravity a force? Isn't it just the by-product of spacetime distortion.

Is gravity the thing that "pulls" you towards a mass, or the force that distorts spacetime?

it can be modeled as spacetime distortion just like everything else.
the difference between gravity and electromagnetism is that something can be neutral, and the energy it has doesnt' increase it's charge, while gravity is strengthened by the energy an object has been imparted with being equivalent to mass

Space and time have no properties.

It's a description, a fancy one that means "mass accelerates to mass". The cause is unknown.

When you stand on a scale, it measures force,
which is the result of gravity;
but gravity itself is not a force. It's an acceleration, caused by mass.

The distortion of spacetime is an explanation of an equation, but the truth is there are a multitude of such physical explanations that can be used to model an equation in reality. So is gravity a force? Well, the point is it can be modelled as one, just as it can be modelled as a distortion of spacetime.

Measurements do not have properties either. They are attributed to objects that have properties, but have no physical connection with the object in question for the sake for comparing it to other objects.
