So I was thinking: Wouldn't it be useful if there were a way of making 3D maps of environments, but more efficiently and at higher resolution than scanning/sweeping LiDAR? Perhaps a prism could be used to split a beam of light that starts out as a single frequency into many frequencies, and each frequency could correspond to a different part of the field of view of the camera? That way, the measurements could be taken of all parts of the field of view at the same time, instead of out of sync. Do you think this idea would be marketable?
