>>13350844Something is still going on deep down inside there but not much of it is powerful enough to reach the surface. Mars seems to have had a much saltier internal chemistry. When It got hit by a big asteroid a lot of Mars internals got pushed out and I suspect it never really recovered from this.
Mars was always too small and cold and saltiness isn't really ideal for maintaining a long lasting internal dynamo (from what I know). It was doomed from the start.
Ceres is probably similarly salty beneath the ice mantle.
