They got a ton of goy press at first because they secured a dickload of early doses and so took an early lead, but to be a 60% now is awful. As everyone knows, it's mostly the turbo old who got doses, and it falls off the younger the age group you look at. As everyone also knows, delta hits younger people harder than the original strain does. Delta is ripping through that 40% of the population, which happens to be younger people, and that's why they're seeing a resurgence and a ton of deaths.
Compare and contrast with Canada: 73% vaccine coverage in the total population. There is a resurgence of cases, but the number of deaths, while increased compared to a month or two ago, is still very small compared to the initial waves.
TL;DR: Israel got good news about vaccination rates at first, but didn't follow through and so are now getting fucked over as expected.
