I prefer it for cooking, ESPECIALLY baking. It's so fucking annoying when a recipe calls for "a cup of flour," like that's wildly different depending on how much I pack, whether I sift, etc. I'd rather a recipe tell me "X grams of flour" that's so much better. The average american household doesn't have a kitchen scale it's weird
