>>13541549True, I accidentally used the Roscosmos spaceship's entire mass for the mass of the reactor, obviously the reactor must be significantly less than 20 tons. On second check I see the ISS is actually generating 160kWe now so that will reduce the total panel square footage needed to "only" 150,000 and the total mass to maybe "only" 60 tons. Maybe we can halve that weight by further assuming that the support structure for this hypothetical ship's gargantuanly large solar array will only need to be half as bulky and heavy as the panels of the ISS, let's be super generous and call it ONLY 30 tons for the whole thing.
This still means that if you want as much power from this solar array it must be at least 10 tons heavier than the entire Roscosmos MPD tug's wet mass, and this is of course only power available in LEO, somewhere else like LMO it will be 40% less power, and in an environment like the Jovian system such an array would generate only maybe 16% as much power.
