Nobody except the french and maybe one or two of their neighbours gives a shit about the Ecoles and Cambridge acceptance rate is over 20% so it's filled with midwits. In honesty nobody gives a shit about the American unis outside of the very top ones either, and their legacy admissions and similar fuckery do make them a bit memey, but not more so than the ones you mentioned.

I find this particularly true, I've been using MIT multivariable calculus as a complement and there's a huge difference in the way they teach this class and my uni, at MIT the teacher covers a lot of topics in a single glass and just outlines their correlation and put all the information in an ordered manner, all the heavy lifting is done by the students outside class. Oppose to this my teacher has the burden of teaching everything, mostly of what could easily done by a book, so the class ends being cluttered and the correlation between topics and information much more opaque

OP here, I like answers that are more detailed like this so it covers more questions that a person would ask as clarification. It seems like 4Chan doesn’t have as much of that and just responds with calling someone a nigger faggot with no helpful answers. I know this site is free speech given form but I would like more responses such as these since they elaborate on issues that sites such as Quora would be too pozzed to let loose.

For life sciences, the theory is not what makes good universities stand out. Just read the recent publications and editions of the basic literature. The same everywhere.
Good universities teach lab experience with the most up to date methods, which is insanely expensive and you can meet and connect with the top tier scientists of your field. That's where (some) Ivy league universities excel.

If I line up 20 people and roll a d20, that would make my selection rate the same as the Ivies. It doesn't mean it's meritocratic. In reality, most people in Ivies are there due to connections/legacy admissions (or the color of your skin if you're a nog). They can always cherrypick some geniuses, but this isn't the main demographic.

To be fair I have met many lawyers from Harvard and they hate their jobs because of the jews. Yes they do make 200k and more per year but they hate making money for the jews. They even said they would rather work in the docks of Florida if it meant getting away from them.
