Sudden cardiac arrest is caused by malfunctioning electrical signals disrupting the beating pattern of heart tissue.
Sudden cardiac arrest is rare unless you have a condition, in which case you get a pacemaker. Otherwise, we have AED's at high risk locations like high school/college nurses, airports, etc to serve the same treatment purposes.
