What is the objective reason for why to prefer one over the other?

Because I heard that the polygenic data are not very accurate yet. And this study is 6 years old.
And it's not very easy to "inflate" IQ. Not in long-term at least. Many childhood interventions and adoption studies demonstrated that.

Because that's the simplest explanation.
Your method would require an additional explanation of why Afro-Americans and all whites have much higher IQs than their GWAS hits would suggest.

There's no need to concoct excessively complicated models to uphold some politically correct ideology, when the obvious is simply obvious. 1st world conditions raise IQs. White and Afroamerican IQs are inflated. Very simple.

All those adoption studies are done in the US, regarding whites and blacks, who have already reached their genetic potentials.

National IQs have already been documented to go up as poverty alleviates, see Serbia and Ireland for examples.

You have it backwards.
Some arab nations are super rich thanks to their oil reserves yet their IQ is in low 80s. Caribbean islands have low IQ yet they are quite rich thanks to their tourist industry. On the other hand, China and Mongoloia are quite poor due to their history of socialism yet their IQs are very high. If wealth affected IQ this would not have been the case.

This has only been observed for the Kalash of Pakistan, and they were almost certainly isolated for >3000 years from their neighbors.

Since you cited Unz you probably share his convictions of extreme malleability of IQ depending on the national wealth. So I ask again, how is it that Caribbean and Middle East is so low IQ despite being so rich? They have been rich for far enough time so their IQ would have already risen if it could. So why didn't it?
