it is actually worth 100 quintillion dollars
even the most optimistic $/kg costs for putting things into space are around $10/kg and that's just to LEO, to get to the asteroid belt you need at least 10 times more
not to mention price hike metals and fuel would have if you started launching millions of tons of it to space
