And he's not the only issue epic author who causes the story to slow to a crawl by creating more view points than possible. JV Jones, Susanne Clarke and S A Chakraborty and many more also do it. Now you know why they also have characters glued together or else the plot will move so sluggishly the plot will never be completed. People write themselves into a hole that they can never escape from if too many characters move too far away from each other in one story.
The funniest one that I saw was that one character was working with another character for reasons that caused them to backflip on their loyalty in the first story and be undyingly devoted to another character to join POV Party number 2. In another one drugged another character to walk off with two characters that they had never seen before to become to join POV party 2 and then becomes undyingly loyal to the cause otherwise why else can they never leave. The last one can't leave because they are being magically bound never to leave the current POV party 1. So you see there are a lot of reasons why the characters cannot leave the current POV.
