I'm a big shounentard, and people are so creative in longfics. TF has time travel built in and I see so few Time-Travel Fix-its when looking for something new outside of manual search.
It just doesn't feel creative, most of what I consider fun was written before 2017. So many concepts and ideas like crossovers with consequences simply don't show unless I filter, filter, filter and find something that isn't just very badly written canon indifference to lovers. I like weird ship dynamics. One sided relationships, cross faction tension that isn't just smut- what have you.
Personally, I'd love to see more OC stories that are actually stories. Like a Con who had to siphon fuel or outright canibalize one of his friends because the Screamy's an idiot. I don't see much happening beyond the road to two characters banging for short fics, and longfics that have prose that turn The Headmasters into Cervantes. I read two paragraphs of The Good Place AU and the first chapter was just the first episode beat by beat.
That's not an AU that's a novelization with the names swapped.
I can handle a little OOC. I cannot handle OOC on top of being bored by the lack of anything actually happening.
