Also, not a fic, but I enjoyed Sadamune's doujinshi a lot (the first one). It's rather comedy/cute but it also stars Ichikawa and they're hanging around together at the end.
I feel you by the way. There were two modern AUs I kind of enjoyed but I largely ignore the #??? tag and do the same for Golden Kamuy and other stuff I am into. It's more tolerable if they keep the memories but in I generally prefer the originals since I think that you cannot erase the role of a person and put them into another setting and still have them be the same person.
That aside, katana, scars and hitatare are hot and I don't want to miss them.
