Here is where you can find the Goblin Leader, one of my favorite monster boys in both games (yes, I seriously ran Goblin parties through endgame). It is possible that you did not fully explore the are or aren't quite there. The penultimate floor of the first labyrinth is called Pale Forest and you can find Goblin Leader pretty soon after the start. You can use the coins in town to buy an accessory that turns the PC into a goblin, allowing for follow up attack synergy with the various goblins. Also, the Goblin Fighter has a blind-inflicting ability which is a godsend when dealing with the Killer Rabbit in Strata 2 of SXM1 and the Halloween Sub-Labyrinth in SXM2.
