>>3868886Stella's report from the ARG described CatNap in Playcare as shy, gentle and loved by the children there. You can find drawings of CatNap all over Home Sweet Home, so the kids all liked him for the most part. He also reciprocated that by saving them all from the Miss Delight's and the Hour of Joy. CatNap clearly retained a lot of his memories as the scientist even calls him by his real name, so at least in the beginning, he still had his humanity. Obviously there was a long 10 years of going more and more crazy afterwards.
Also, I've seen some people think the scientists worked their brains around to act more like the Smiling Critters' cartoon characters. I don't think it's that. They probably purposefully scouted kids that were similar to the shows counterparts, but did do a little brain conditioning. Theo was the Prototype's "friend" from the beginning. He was probably always quiet and shy, just like the cartoon character.
Anyways I typed a lot. Enjoy this picture I found of CatNap more in the style of Mommy Long Legs, as in more toy like and less scary. This is probably exactly what he would have looked and acted like had they not gone darker.
