I think that Bravern is so explicitly centered around men and male fanservice that the crew enjoys to insert scenes with women who are shilling the men by having the hots for them. See also Isami's ex-buddy and Miyu, who tells the audience that the face of the robot is super handsome or the voice hot. It's like otaku romance anime where every character praises the super attractive waifu that is of course in love with the self-insert. Just that Bravern is pandering fujos who prefer shipping over self-insertion, so the three hot characters everybody else adores are in love with each other instead.
Personally, I think that the scenes in question are neither triggering romance flags for Smith (and that Isami will think the same), nor that they pander the otaku. At best, the women might be audience's surrogates with how fujo Miyu is and everything.
I think that they are doing a lot of things right. My literal only issue with the anime is that Smith is getting cock-blocked from doing crazy shit outside of ep. 5, usually thanks to Lulu. But she finally has her robot back, so I hope that he can do something cool on his own again in ep. 7.
