They have a big duel and a falling out, then Sasuke leaves to go hang out with the main villain.
Honestly my knowledge of the show isn’t great, I was never a huge fan of it, and I stopped watching after Sasuke joined Orochimaru, but Naruto: Shippuden ends with adult Naruto and Sasuke having a second huge homoerotic duel where they work out their frustrations and make up.
tl;dr the original series of Naruto (up to the point where Sasuke leaves) + Naruto: Shippuden finale (they have a big gay fight as adults where they basically admit they love each other) is a fairly satisfying watch.
Actually that “kiss and make up” duel was done better than the anime in one of the videogame adaptations, imo, but there’s obviously several ways to get the story, anime, vidyas, manga and so on.
