On the other hand apparently nip fans are confused about the "Noko and Mito aren't related" because the way it's worded could either mean they aren't related to each other or aren't related to Gin, and in the latter case it would mean she isn't actually his granddaughter and he just dumped some random kid on Noko and Mito and then left. Either scenario just makes him seem like a gigantic asshole
