>>3844556True, but as far as I can tell, the only real changes that are made in the English translation are primarily just names and locations, overall Westernization.
Like in the original, it's obviously set in Japan. But in the English version it's set in a fictional American location. Which gets screwy because YKW3 involves Keita moving to America, complete with language barriers and everything. So the translation just has to treat the move like they're moving to the deep South, where the southern accents or so thick Keita can't understand them and needs them translated.
There's also all the Ghost Busters parody things in the Busters spin-off getting replaced with Blasters, including changing the final boss from Stay Puff Marshmallow Man to more Godzilla-y.
So you're right that there's definitely differences and what could be considered censorship, but it never really registers to me. Primarily because I think of censorship like how they changed the anime Robanyan joke from pleasure to tickling, or how YGO cards removed sexual and religious stuff. Nothing like that really happens in the games.
So fair if that bothers you, it's just not something that stops me from enjoying what are still really good games.
