>>3834624 is both correct and wrong. World Trigger's anime is mediocre at best since it was adapted by Toei during the height of their poor quality era. The fact that the anime is even remotely watchable is proof of how strong the source material is, as other properties like Toriko straight up did not survive contact with Toei during this time. World Trigger is easily the best series that has debuted in Weekly Shonen Jump in nearly twenty years. While it appears to just be another battle shonen series like most hit Jump series, it also borrows a lot of its structure from sports anime, as rank advancement within the paramilitary organization that the main cast are a part of is made to resemble an e-sports circuit for a squad-based tactical arena fighter. Unlike most series with a cast of a thousand, World Trigger actually uses just about every single cast member; the current arc is a long-form exam with the main cast split up amongst a few dozen other characters introduced in prior arcs with no combat segments in years and most chapter dump threads on /a/ are still populated with uncharacteristically heartfelt discussion. The biggest issue with the series is that it falls into a similar boat as Hunter X Hunter: it is semi-irregular due to the author's permanent health condition. It moved to Jump SQ in 2018 and became "monthly" but still produces weekly length chapters. In a good month, there are two chapters, but it is considered lucky to get one. Just this year there were 2 chs in Jan and Jun, 1 ch in Mar, Apr, Jul, and Sept, and none in Feb and Aug.
As for the shota, besides the deuteragonist Yuma

There is also a very silly 5 year that rides on a capybara named Yotaro, the brooding young teen pretty boy Ema (who turns into a blushing cutie when it comes to his crush), and the rare legal shota Kazama, a 21 year old college student constantly mistaken in-universe for a 12 year old.
