The anon posting that Hooni image posts the same one every other thread. Most of us just ignore him at this point. There isn't a hard cutoff, but the range is usually 14-15, lining up with the final year of Japanese middle school. However, not all third year middle school boys qualify for shota status by default (see Tokyo Revengers: a lot of the core cast are third year middle schoolers). At a certain point, it became less about age and more about design. Still, end of middle school is the cutoff and anything after that is either "shota" (especially for characters that are 20+ years old but look like they are 10) or just twinks. If you could feasibly get away with posting nudes on /y/ for the characters and not get stricken with a shota ban, then it's not shota (see threads for Naruto, Kingdom Hearts, My Hero Academy, etc.).
