Dudes in the fanbase don't like Angel as they say themselves they don't care about him and I've seen a lot of hate towards Angel actually comin out from the male fanbase. I have to guess because he gets shipped with Aki and also he is not a "waifu" nor a character in which they can self insert into.
it's not only a western problem as Japs are also guilty of mischaracterize him, in a different way. they see Angel as an innocent pure ugu baby and infantilize/woobifying him to death. I don't mind art of him wearing a dress or being "pretty" but it's waay too much. He's cute, but he doesn't act like a toddler/8-10 years old kid.
Maybe my perspective is wrong since I'm not in the fandom anymore, I only see the occasional content because I have a friend who's still a fan. that's it, basically.
