You can't show me a pre-2000 anime character that looks bad. This average boy
>>3773751 looks good. This dude
>>3773739 is just standing and lookin good. Even when they try to drawn an ugly bastard
>>3773750 what comes out is one fine daddy.
>>3773796>is it true that handdrawn looks better?just have to look to see it.
>I just think modern anime companies are lazy so that's why it looks soullessYeah it's easier and cheaper to do it digitally. New anime looks different for many reasons.
1. With vectors/pixels you just need one click to fill the colors. With traditional you need to paint over and that takes more time.
2. The grainy texture and light bloom effect in bright areas in old anime occurs automatically because of how it's recorded. New anime would have to do this on purpose so more labor.
3. Old anime didn't have just thicker lines they also had MORE lines. They used lines to shade hair and clothes. More lines = harder to animate.
4. Current gen artists don't know old anime. It's been 2 decades since the good stuff stopped being produced. When you get feed sovless moe shit for 20 years you lose your sovl and some of them were born after cel died out.
What really hurts is hearing artist talk about how their style looks "old" and they have to update it to look "modern" to get more commissions but their "old" looks like anime from 6 years ago and "modern" from last year.
