>>3760319The problem with female characters comes with Fujimoto's little or no experience with women. He is obviously some kind of incel with unironic autism who is obsessed with girls and puts them on a pedestal (check the interview with the bike girl). Because of this, he knows the basics of writing a memorable and realistic female character, meaning that unlike writers like Gege, his women act like women and not men with tits. The big problem is that he can just explore them superficially and can't dig deeper since he just doesn't know how, so he proceeds to kill them or brainwash them or whatever (Himeno, Quanxi, Reze). This also happened with Judah, who Fujimoto had no choice but to take away her memories and old self because otherwise he doesn't know how to develop her or her relationship with Agni, ending up as something extremely disappointing. Which is why a lot of his female characters with room to explore their characters are halfassed or are lost potential. His waifuism ironically ends up ruining a lot of his female characters like Makima. In other cases, many of his antagonistic female characters are either extremelly shallow (Akane, Master), or he pulls on them the stupid "and she was leee crazy and has a meme motivation" twist (Suriya, Yuko) or despite being funny/likable they barely have any depth (Kobeni). Togata aside, Power had the ""best"" character arc because despite getting sidelined hard it was a very easy-to-write ch arc (hates humanity -> like one human -> sacrifices her life for that human) so she was able to fullfill her character arc satisfactorily without Fujimoto fucking up.
What I'm trying to say is that Fujimoto needs to interact with real women and have a real girlfriend ASAP.
