>>3698453I give them histories that help me inform their names; Echo is a nickname because he looks a lot like his dad and only repeated words his dad said when he was learning to talk. Perry is short for Peregrine because his mom was a high school history teacher, loved history, and so she named her only kid after the first child born in the American colonies shortly after the Mayflower landed. Ohio is an AI robot boy named after the state because he’s from a futuristic sci-fi story where humans are seeking a new planet to live on, and American engineers named all 50 of their planet-seeking probes after their states.
Naming comes after/during character development for me, imo, but also I’m super autistic about names. It took me two months to name my dog, lmao. I use generators for ideas sometimes if I’m stuck, or I’ll go on nameberry dot com to browse baby name lists. Cheers & good luck
