Viz. the fetishising thing, I find the neurotic desire to regulate other people's sexualities incomprehensible. It's also hypocritical and philosophically untenable, in my opinion: all private erotic desire is "fetishisation" insofar as it reappropriates external signs and objects for personal pleasure, without regard for social convention. It doesn't make sense in my view to lecture people for fetishising gay men. Homosexuals fetishise unapologetically. They have turned every attribute of reality, no matter how sacred or profane, into a resource of sexual titillation. That is probably one of the most identifiable characteristics of modern "gay culture" -- Kenneth Anger, Jean Genet, Tom of Finland, Pier Paolo Pasolini, Samuel Delany, Yukio Mishima, Robert Mapplethorpe etc. had as their sex objects fascists, black men, angels, demons, workers, cops, pageboys, whatever. Gelded Discord moralists might beg to differ, but only because they enjoy having metaphorical chains wrapped around themselves and other people. They are not being intellectually honest. Anyway, as a homo I give you permission to fetishise masculinity and the complexities of male sexual orientation as much as you like.
