Could you imagine recommending someone to watch Prometheus and Alien Covenant before Alien, because of a fictional chronology, even though those movies rely on the imagery of Alien for their themes and are worse? Imagine if your first view of the Xenomorph was the CGI one from Covenant.
I can't speak for Metal Gear games, and I doubt they drop so significantly in quality like the Alien prequels, but telling someone to experience something according to its fictional chronology, just because of its fictional chronology, is extremely flimsy reasoning to me.
There's got to be a better reason than "it's chronological order"
Imagine watching the Star Wars prequels first. I'm literally shaking.
