In Monster for example, the Nazis are just depicted as killing large numbers of random people for literally no reason. Funnily enough, that's closer to Rape of Nanking than the Holocaust. Japs are more likely to pretend to care about muh Nazis if they think of themself as minorities who have something to gain from left-wing politics. Otherwise they're more than willing to use the cool aesthetics and couldn't give less of a shit about western political drama.
