I haven't lost all hope yet, Inazuma made two things clear: 1. More than one god can share the archon position, though this may have been an exception by Celestia because they were twins. 2. Before his attempted invasion, the twins coexisted with Orobashi, letting him rule Watatsumi freely.
With that in mind and also the fact that each nation so far has had at least one other god besides the Archon, even if the Dendro Archon ends up being female, it's still possible for there to be another male god. If Inazuma of all places had another god coexisting with the Archons, I don't see why Sumeru which seems to be a peaceful nation can't do the same.
I also think that Yae's dialogue at least in English was a bit weird. The only clear mention of the Dendro Archon is when she says Sumeru is the land of the God of Wisdom, when she explains who Kusanali is she merely says it's the deity in whom the people of Sumeru place their faith. Why would she say it like that instead of saying it's how the locals call the Dendro Archon? What I mean is, the way she phrased it is suspiciously vague and while it can be referring to the Dendro Archon, it's also no different from how someone would explain that the people of Watatsumi worship Orobashi, just replace "Lesser Lord Kusanali" with "Omikami" and "Sumeru" with "Watatsumi" and the phrase still makes sense.
Lastly, isn't it weird that they would call their Archon "Lesser Lord"? Unless it's a loli, it can mean that there's more than one deity worshiped in Sumeru and "lesser" is used because it's not the Archon.
I think it's too early to jump to conclusions, did anyone see the twin Archons coming? Let's relax and wait, we're not even done with Inazuma yet, there's no point in worrying so much about Sumeru which will probably take a year to release, things can change until then.
