For me, I'd call the anime a failure if it's just a rehash of a previous game, like DMC3, which would not only be the boring choice but creates the most potential for pissing people off if they go off script, which they probably would. I want a continuation of the story past dmc5 and a proper set up for a sequel. The thing is, if Itsuno is still working away on DD2, another dmc game is way off in the horizon and I'm tired of waiting.
