Taking a look at these solo Kaworu merch recently makes me wonder even more what were they thinking with the "Kaworu Festival"
This book is moslty 3.0, has that gay poetry, and those postcards are from NGE, which Rebuild destroys too. But would the people that think kawoshin is dead after Shin bother? I wanna take a look at this year and at the end know if the fujos that don't give a fuck are enough (they probably are)
Talking in general, for what I've seen, a big part of the market, obviously I mean the non yumes or regularfans, are still pretty depressed or are now indifferent to buy (or care about) these things. I saw some comments saying "I was excited for white plugsuit Asuka/Mari but now I don't feel like buying it" "I think I'll cancel my yukata Shinji/Kaworu preorder"
The one with the most positive reception is the farmer Rei figure but even then I still read recent comments about the movie and how some felt forced to care for ReiQ or the movie tried too hard to make them care for her and didn't really work etc etc
Obviously Khara will still make lots of money out of this as usual, it's just that this is interesting to me because 3.0+1.0 has lost opportunity after opportunity to make even more money since the first delay and in general if you ask me (those comments about figure makers not wanting to make kaworu or shinji figures because they think only the girls sell from past years), and bussiness is what Anno cares about as he said.
