>>3571043That's just the natural status of a dying community mixed with some external bad actors. Since the same cropped panels and fanart have been posted countless times and the translations of the comic are on hiatus the posters have resigned to talk about random stuff until a new drop of fresh content appears and is consumed by them, prolonging the slow death spiral of the general.
Most of the time generals disappear naturally when the available content and discussion have been exhausted (in /cm/'s case general-like threads about specific characters/franchises stop being made for a period of time), but in some cases a portion of the community becomes so attached to it that keep it artificially alive by multiple means (see Katawa Shoujo generals on /vg/) until an external force (mods, raiders, extreme drama) gets rid of them forever.
But natural death isn't the only problem of that general. Sadly for them, Suicide Boy and Hooni attracted a lot of bad users that only accelerate the death of the general. Trannies and attention whores from /tttt/, (possibly underage) normalfags from Twitter who had SB as their first contact with yaoi, and even the resident schizo who complains all day about shota have congregated there, producing a disgusting cancer soup that will only get worse with the time (unless they get the boot again).
As a matter of fact, Suicide Boy threads were forced to end in the past for the same motives stated here (lack of fresh content and rotting of the community), and is almost certain that a mod puts them down again due to how bad it still is. These shota threads that people love to hate would suffer the same fate if they didn't have a really broad topic that allows a constant influx of new and diverse content that ultimately washes away any drama and shitposting that happens. Said influx of new content is also why they're still allowed to exist despite having a big record of offenses with the mods, new cute pics are the what keeps /cm/ alive.
