You can be kindhearted and also hide great turmoil and horrible warts inside, being flawed is not exclusive to being just a bad person or something, we're more than just black and white.
Loving people despite their flaws is what we all should strive for. Maybe you should stop covering your ears to the truth.
Your partner (or whoever) is ugly inside just like you, and that doesn't make them less, just like you. You're both equally worth it. The fact that you can love them despite their flaws is beautiful.
I'm not going to calm down because someone might need to read this, also I'm not even venting I'm just saying, talking about feelings isn't always venting.
If you put in the effort to accept your imperfection and love others' imperfections too then you might achieve happiness, there's always a way for things to get better especially if you put in some effort, but first, you must stop hating yourself and put everyone else on an unreachable pedestal.
It a hard concept to get at first but hey, it took me years but I finally understood it.
