I have a real soft spot for Free but, in hindsight, it probably wasn't necessarily very good, right? The third season especially became quite unreal, these serious college guys getting all cut up about obscure middle school drama and so on. And the general Kyoani mechanism of having all the characters be rather soft and unsexual felt increasingly weird when it was attached to these very competitive, very jacked adults. That kind of mood fitted Tsurune a lot better, where the boys were a lot more gentle. I'm hyped for S4, nevertheless.
>>3590027The whole "Swimming Anime" affair was hilarious, tumblr idiots thinking they'd pressured Kyoani into enlarging the Free PV into a full series, people making fun of those people, people who thought that Free WAS brought about by Western pressure, but thought this was a bad thing, those fandom placeholder character names like Nagisa being "Shota-kun" or whatever
