The characters have compelling stories and struggles, even the minor characters, so it's very easy to care for all of them. I enjoyed the anime a lot overall.

If you're worried about the anime portraying their relationship as the typical yaoi seme x uke bs, don't be. Their relationship is taken seriously and it's developed throughout the anime.
