>>3490973>>3490974I just want Vergil to have some variation. Nero has Kyrie, Dante has his playboy with guns, and Vergil has always been the woman repellent. The only reason Nero exists is because Itsuno wanted to put Vergil in dmc4 but he was dead and told to not to, so he pulled out of his ass the fact Vergil had a son in some point of time no one knew about. And this was always confusing because he rejected humanity and in the dmc3 manga had that scene "painted whore" moment which I know was a bit of a mistranslation but I digress. Dante has been the one to chase girls and Vergil rejects them, and somehow he's the one with a kid. So it's no surprise there is so much tip toeing.
The other problem is this shit is utterly irrelevant, you don't need to cover any of this in the fucking game. I loved the story in dmc5 but I loved it for the story beats and highs and lows. They worked well with the mission structure. That said I still want Vergil and Dante to sit down and have a conversation for 30 minutes, just not in a game. So it's good we get so much spin off material that fills the gaps. And it's always been decent, the worse being the anime and it was still pretty good. So it's conflicting, I guess in the end I just want Vergil to still be fleshed even more than he already is. And in a way I know would cause shit flinging here and elsewhere over his preferences, sexuality, etc. He's a good character that deserves to be explored more. I wish I felt that way about Dante too. Maybe I'm just tired of the drunken, pizza hobo aesthetic. Vergil is interesting.
