>>3489301I feel less excited than usual because S23 to me was a big letdown. Only a couple of episodes that genuinely focused on the kids, while most of the remaining ones were about the farm, the worn-out use of Tegridy to mean integrity, the entire Marsh family hating Randy but nothing coming of it...
I feel like Randy fills a similar role to Cartman in that they both often get themselves into stupid shit for selfish reasons. Except the difference is that Cartman actually has appeal when he does them and sometimes gets his comeuppance for antagonizing the rest of the cast (the time he got hit by lightning, or Wendy beat his ass, or he had his plan exposed in the Garden of Betrayal, or was locked in the cage after he allied Cthulhu). That to me makes Cartman's antics entertaining to watch. Randy does similar shit but pretty much always gets away with it. And I think it is particularly irritating that Randy does it because he is pretty much a manchild, which is nowhere near as fun to watch as Cartman for being manipulative and self-centered.
I just think the adults always worked better as supporting characters to what the kids got into, not as the actual focus of an episode, and most certainly not as the focus of half a damn season.
