>>3481279Not the other anon, but as a longtime lurker on these threads I've noticed some of the Ignis talk can get a tad repetitive and even authoritative. There's certainly way worse takes out there, but some of these statements have gotten parroted as fact so often even on unrelated boards like /co/ (probably by the same anon or two) that I'm starting to regret my part in fueling the semicolons-ridden broken record of how Ignis is a yandere who will burn the world for Noctis and dgaf about Gladio/Aranea over and over again. I agree on a lot of it, and I appreciate that these anons are well-informed on the lore, but I'm not a fan of the part where any reasonable differences in opinion or even jokes get lectured down with the same hyper-literal and specific interpretations of the same ten lines of dialogue, ad nauseam.
I get you love Ignis and the Ignis/Noctis relationship. So do I. But Tabata and the writing team aren't as brilliant as you think. Yes they managed to squeeze out some great M/M material, because surprise, guess who buys the games, but they're not committed enough to not shoot themselves in the foot and keep retconning their own lore every few updates because Squenix is run by morons. Also, the English localizer is openly gay and admitted to sprucing translations up to give his favorite XV ships extra material.
Anyway, glad to get it off my back, and apologies if I sound more like an asshole than I meant to. But it's been bothering me ever since DotF and the localizer's comments made it painfully obvious what a shitshow the story direction was.
>>3481977Hmm. Homura from PMMM and Mikasa from AOT if you don't mind vaginas. TRC Syaoran if you don't mind het. Waver Velvet from Fate for homo.
Otherwise if you're willing to wade through TVTropes, look up "Silk Hiding Steel", "Beneath the Mask", or "Always Save the Girl" depending on what part you're looking for. You're not wrong that it's not rare, though a combo of all three is less common..
