So, it's fine complaining about it when you have the staff say that "yes, there is homoerotic sub/text in Eva between Kaworu and Shinji" and the Japanese fandom accepting it, but you have the otakus in the West seethe and deny it only because they are homophobes.
And as the other anon said, since you go to wiki to get info about the series and the writing is supposed to be neutral and objective but find text written by someone that is clearly constipated and allergic towards any gay undertones, then yes anonymity between the fandom will rise. I am pretty sure even if Kaworu and Shinji had sex they would deny it and make excuses about it.
As a last info, I knew little about the VS Evageeks. I have heard about it but I am a casual fan of Eva so I never gave any second thoughts about it. But since I wanted to clear up some stuff after I rewatched the series yesterday, what I found on Kaworu's wiki page about his relationship with Shinji smelled too much against shipping them, so I decided to look around online about it and ended up on that google doc.
