Danganronpa is a murder mystery series featuring 16 characters per game (8 boys and 8 girls), who are all trapped in a confined space and told to kill each other by a robotic bear called Monokuma. In order for someone to escape, they have to kill someone and get away with it (i.e not being caught as the killer when the murder is later discussed in a 'class trial').
With all the boys you'll probably have a few favourites each game, but they can and probably will die horrifically. There's a dating sim aspect to the game though and you can interact a lot with each character, both in the main story mode and other non-canon modes. The characters are all super distinct, they're definitely kinda trope-y but nearly every single one has some hidden depth if you choose to hang out and learn more about them.
